After all the preparation and all the waiting – it finally arrived, went faster than the wind and left us with lots of work – ACHEMA – the event of choice for chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries.
Every 3 years the ACHEMA Exhibition in Frankfurt brings together nearly 170,000 industry professionals, enabling them to showcase their latest innovations, to let their visitors see and touch the products, to meet the experts and listen to inspiring programme – and finally (but probably most importantly), to build partnerships and finalise deals.
Busy busy busy! All of our sales engineers were occupied at all times. Even marketing had to answer some technical questions!
This year’s focal topics of ACHEMA were:
1. Biobased World
2. Industrial Water Management
3. Innovative Process Analytical Technology
These topics were intertwined within the Opening Ceremony and the beautiful interpretive dance duet that had begun it. Great inspirational speech by last year’s chemistry Nobel winner Stefan Hell was something not to be missed. All five days of the exhibition show were packed full of seminars and fun activities goodness -which on its own is a great reason to attend if you want to keep up with the industry!
As for the cold hard facts – let’s look at the numbers. During its five day course ACHEMA welcomed tons of people:
Achema in numbers
For the first time more than half of the exhibitors (53.0%) came from outside Germany. China was second in the exhibitor number rankings and was ahead of Italy by only the narrowest of margins. The number of companies from Turkey, Taiwan and India substantially increased. Within the EU region it was Austria, the UK and Spain that showed the largest increase. France and the US were again well represented.
Another first time for ACHEMA according to CEO of DECHEMA, Thomas Scheuring, was that the visitor length of stay has reached a turning point, meaning it’s the event of choice for people that freed their busy schedules for more days than ever to go to Frankfurt and make important decisions about their businesses.
As for Extract Technology at ACHEMA, it’s been the first time we’ve done the show since 2003 so we made sure we put some effort into it and we’ve managed to get great results:
If you’d like to find out more about the GreenLine Low Noise, Low Energy Downflow Booth launched at ACHEMA, we’ll be posting a comprehensive press release next week so keep your eye on this place!
Aside from all the other benefits from participating in ACHEMA, one cannot ignore the importance and value of the team building exercise. The hard work, long days and evenings spent together definitely brought #teamextract closer and equipped us with priceless knowledge and experience.
Great events involve lots of planning – and DECHEMA, the organisers of the fair, are already planning the next one. Same place, same industries, 11-15th June 2018. ACHEMA is a great event that simply cannot be missed if you’re in the industry. It’s the place to be – and we’ll be there come 2018!
